It is important that global custodians regularly monitor all subcustodians operating within their networks. RBC Dexia Investor Services reviews its subcustodian network on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis measuring a variety of different factors and metrics to ensure that our subcustodians continuously meet our minimum appointment criteria. RBC Dexia Investor Services ensures that all client assets are safeguarded in accordance with strict parameters.

Performance scorecard

All our subcustodians are scored against all sections of our agreed service level standards, including the standard and frequency of market information we receive from them, on a quarterly basis. This allows network management to evaluate the performance of our subcustodians against the agreed SLS and in comparison with the rest of the subcustodian network. This process forms a major part of our CRA procedures.

Performance results are provided to our subcustodians with an indication of where they fall below or exceed requirements. We conduct a service review with any subcustodian that does not meet our expected service level, to provide relevant feedback and put a plan in place to ensure that these areas are improved prior to the next quarter’s performance review.
