Privacy
Respecting and safeguarding the confidentiality of our clients' personal, business and financial information is fundamental to the way we do business. Technology advances have allowed us to develop and provide new channels for delivering services to clients and new ways for clients to both access and provide their information to us. As well, one of RBC Dexia’s strategic priorities includes the integration of products, systems and technology to provide clients with greater operational efficiencies while expanding our range of sophisticated solutions.
These developments may require sharing client data among other parts of the RBC Dexia Group and have raised unique privacy and information security aspects which are addressed by privacy management to ensure the ongoing safeguarding and protection of client information. Our new technology initiatives help reinforce our existing commitment to client privacy while ensuring the client service experience remains at the highest level.
All RBC Dexia Investor Services businesses and affiliates, their employees and service suppliers are governed by strict standards and privacy policies. Each of our global offices has a designated Compliance Officer that ensures local privacy and data protection legislative requirements are met.
To ensure our commitment to client privacy, we adhere to comprehensive Privacy Policies that govern the behaviour of our employees and suppliers with regard to the accuracy, confidentiality and security of all client information. Our information handling protocols have been designed to meet or exceed internationally recognised industry standards such as Privacy Guidelines defined by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
We keep your financial information confidential and will not disclose information to any external third party without your prior knowledge, direction or consent, or unless required or permitted by law.
In addition, we respect the confidentiality of clients' personal, business and financial information including: data that identifies or relates to a client, whether the client is an individual or a company, and all non-public information delivered to or retained by us relating to our clients and our clients' clients and employees.
We observe the privacy laws and guidelines issued by jurisdictions in which our offices operate. Any information in foreign jurisdictions will be governed by privacy and data protection laws, if any, of the foreign jurisdiction.
RBC Dexia’s systems are protected by high security standards and updated regularly to comply with established best practices and regulatory requirements. As our technology and distribution channels evolve, it is of tremendous importance to us that there is continued respect for privacy management protocols relating to the safeguarding and protection of client information. This is an important part of our commitment to ensuring you continue to benefit from broader market coverage while at the same time enjoying a superior client service experience.
