ALFI Roadshow Seminar | May 11, 2010 | London

The latest ALFI Roadshow Seminar takes place in London as economic recovery builds and interest in UCITS funds and alternative investment rises. Headed ‘Luxembourg – the global opportunity for asset management’ this one day event is designed to attract a range of international asset managers. The seminar will feature a keynote address from Luxembourg Minister of Finance Luc Frieden and will provide an update on UCITS structures as the market prepares for UCITS IV implementation, Luxembourg’s role as a global funds centre and opportunities and challenges for alternative investment funds. The seminar will also outline the role of the Grand Duchy as a centre for private equity funds and real estate investment. In addition to the main program, a special post-seminar meeting: ‘Fund Governance Developments in Luxembourg’ will examine the latest steps to enhance investment governance in Luxembourg.

Luxembourg is firmly established as one of the key centres for UCITS funds in Europe. And with UCITS IV implementation set for July 2011, this panel debate will explore the implications, challenges and opportunities presented by this new change. Amongst the panellists, RBC Dexia’s Jean-Michel Loehr will assess some of the key issues surrounding the full introduction of UCITS IV and the servicing capabilities Luxembourg can offer in this sector.
